A recent durability test on YouTube suggests Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro may look stunning out of the box, but the new colours aren’t holding up well against scratches and chips, especially around the camera module.

While this gives the device a premium aesthetic, the anodised coating Apple has used doesn’t seem to bond well at the corners, according to the video from YouTube channel JerryRigEverything.
That means those gorgeous new hues could start to flake or chip over time if you’re not careful. As you can see in the video below, the rear of the phone does seem to scratch quite easily, and it seems most notable on the standout blue and orange hues. Maybe go for the silver version if you’re particularly worried.
