The only thing I will say is that if you want access to third-party apps like Google Maps or Apple Wallet on your wrist, then it makes more sense to pick up an Apple Watch or a Wear OS-enabled device like one from Samsung or OnePlus, but those wearables tend to cost a fair bit more. For everything else, the GT 4 is a steal.
Circling back to the design, the green option is eye-catching in every way possible. The silver chassis blends effortlessly with the hints of green around the bezel, which then directs your eyes to the comfortable watch strap which embodies a forest-like aesthetic that brings fir trees to mind. It really is a smartwatch that looks as fashionable as an analogue watch, and that’s a rare thing to come by.
Beyond the aesthetic, the GT 4 is a very competent fitness tracker that benefits from Huawei’s continued push for more accurate data. The TruSeen 5.5+ HR sensor can take an accurate reading of your heart rate during a workout, so you’ll know in real time how well your cardiovascular system is responding.
Unlike a lot of other brands, Huawei takes sleep tracking seriously and actually offers up tangible advice on how to improve your overnight rest in the Huawei Health app. It also helps that with a battery life that runs for up to 14 days at a time, the GT 4 can be worn all day and all night without any concern.
Even though Amazon loves to drop tons of smartwatch deals during its Prime Day sales, you won’t find another packing quite the same value as the Huawei Watch GT 4 for less than £100.
