There was a time when Sonos didn’t really do big discounts, but the deals eventually came and now you can get savings on all kinds of Sonos gear during Black Friday season.
One of those speakers that’s currently got a deal attached to it is the Sonos Roam 2. The sequel to Sonos’ first proper outdoor speaker (in our minds), it’s often on promotion around this time of year and if you’ve been waiting for the price to come down again, it’s back to its promotional price.
The Roam 2 can be had for £139.99, down from its £179.99 RRP.
The last time we saw for less than this was back in July as part of the summer Prime Day deals, which shows you how often it drops in price.
If you’re looking to bag yourself another Roam speaker either as a upgrade from the older model or for stereo pairing, it’s back down in price as part of Amazon’s early Black Friday deals.
We reviewed this model and gave it 4.5 stars. It’s a satisfying sequel to the original, though there isn’t too much that’s different from the first model. The sound is pretty much identical, a good thing considering we felt the Roam was one of the best-sounding speakers at its price. Sonos has made it easier to switch into Bluetooth mode with the addition of a separate button.
We liked the clarity of the speaker, especially with its midrange, which helps produce a convincing tone with vocals.
That it has both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming is a feature that’s rare for outdoor speakers. When you’re indoors, you can connect it to a Sonos system over Wi-Fi and stream directly from the Sonos appor music services such as Spotify, or connect to other speakers in the Sonos ecosystem and partake in some multi-room listening.
It’s portable in size and shape, making it a breeze to take it with you on your travels, and its strong water resistance means it can survive whatever the outdoors can throw at it; especially in these autumn and winter months.
It’s the cheapest entry-point into the world of Sonos, even more so with this reduction, and it still ranks as one of the better outdoor speakers you can get.
