Amazon Fire TV Cube 3rd Gen with remote

It’s deals season and as part of the early Black Friday deals that are being flung your way, there’s one going for Amazon’s best streaming device.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is on sale and with this deal, it’s back down from its RRP of £139.99 to £109, saving you £30 in the process.

While that doesn’t seem like a huge saving, that’s the usual discount that the Fire TV Cube receives when it’s been earmarked for a discount. In fact, since we reviewed the newest version back in 2023, it’s rarely been below this price.

I gave the Fire TV Cube 4.5 stars in my review, praising both its video and audio performance, as well as some of its key and unique features. It’s one of the best streamers on the market in my opinion, especially if you’re a home cinema buff.

It’s one of the rare streamers that comes with a HDMI input, so you find yourself short of inputs on your TV; you can use the HDMI input on the Fire TV Cube to plug in your game console, set-top box, 4K Blu-ray player or any other HDMI-related device you couldn’t plug directly into your TV, offering convenience in the process.

There’s also auto low latency mode supprt, so if you want to connect a game console, the Fire TV Cube will recognise what type of device it is and tell the TV to automatically go into its lowest latency state for the fastest input lag. You can enjoy your video games with buttery smooth inputs.

The picture performance does depend on the quality of your TV, but in my experience, I found the Fire TV Cube served up a detailed and colourful performance across HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision HDR sources; while the audio come across as clear and spacious (again, that will also depend on the quality of your sound system).

As Amazon’s flagship streamer, navigating around the interface is speedy and Alexa is on hand to help with any queries or searches you want to make. I didn’t experience any Wi-Fi buffering issues loading titles from streaming apps, and the design is a lot more smarter looking than the older model, making it a streamer that you wouldn’t necessarily want to hide away behind your TV.

I had a lot of fun with the Amazon Fire TV Cube, and if you’re looking for a premium streamer that offers excellent picture and sound; this is the one I’d put my confidence in for Black Friday.
