Bang & Olufsen has picked up the prestigious Sustainability Award at the Trusted Reviews Awards 2025 for the Beosound A1 3rd Gen.
In partnership with eBay, this award highlights some of the brands and products that have a focus on sustainability – whether by offering impressive repairability options, longer-than-average software support, or a focus on using recycled materials.

Winner: Bang & Olufsen Beosound A1 3rd Gen
B&O has been at the forefront of creating more sustainable tech for a while now, and the Beosound A1 3rd Gen is the latest product with it at its heart. This is, of course, a fantastic Bluetooth speaker – it sounds wonderfully rich, with a wide soundstage and a surprising amount of bass. It also looks classy with its precision-milled aluminium body.
But that’s not what has clinched B&O the award. The star here is that this is the first Bluetooth to be Cradle to Cradle Certified (bronze), meaning it is designed to be kept and serviced, rather than replaced.
If the battery dies after years of extended use, the speaker doesn’t need to be thrown away, but it can be fixed and brought back to life.
We have to commend B&O for its focus on sustainability, and the Beosound A1 is a worthy winner of our Sustainability Award.
