Drones can be a fantastic way to see the sights from an entirely new view – the problem with most is the associated cost. Drones, especially those from market-leader DJI, are rarely cheap.
However, the Black Friday fun has begun a little early, and you can nab yourself a significant saving on the popular DJI Mini 3, a sub-250g drone that can take photos and film in 4K from up to 10km away.

£365
That might not sound like much, but it’s actually the lowest price we’ve seen the Mini 3 yet, beating its previous low of £389.
While not as well-equipped as its pricier Pro cousin, the Mini 3 is an excellent entry-level drone that delivers a lot for its low price. It’s easy to fly, pocket-sized, has incredible battery life and its camera performs better than anything else in this price range. Another brilliant drone from DJI.
Pros
-
Great value as an entry-level drone -
Stunning overall video and image quality -
Lightweight and portable design
Cons
-
Can’t quite match the DJI Mini 3 Pro for preformance -
Photos lose quality when cropping -
No Active Track
The DJI Mini 3 is a brilliant starter drone that comes in significantly cheaper than some competing options. It keeps the headline perks of the Mini 3 Pro that matter, including a sub-245g weight so it falls into the most permissive category in the UK for drone flying, a genuinely compact foldable design and DJI’s usual solid brick and slick exosystem.
In the air, it feels every inch a “proper” DJI drone. It’s responsive and easy to fly, the live video feed is clear and stable, and it shrugs off breezy conditions far better than its tiny frame suggests.
You get up to 38 minutes of flight time per battery, which is excellent at this price, plus auto take-off, landing and return-to-home to take the stress out of those first few flights.
Paired with the DJI RC controller, the whole experience feels that little bit more premium, with a built-in screen so you’re not faffing with cables and your phone.

Camera-wise, it’s a genuine step up from the rest of the cheap-and-cheerful crowd. The 1/1.3-inch sensor can shoot crisp 12MP stills (including RAW for editing) and 4K HDR video at up to 30fps, with detailed, punchy footage that holds up really well for social, YouTube and travel clips.
Low-light performance is respectable for such a small sensor, and the gimbal keeps everything nice and smooth too.
If you’re just getting into aerial photography and want something that’s easy to fly, easy to live with and doesn’t feel like a compromise on image quality, the DJI Mini 3 is a superb first “proper” drone – especially at its newly discounted price point.
