Samsung’s next pro earbuds are looking like they will arrive with a completely new design.
Fresh animations from One UI 8.5 show hardware and features that move away from the sharp, triangular vibe of the Buds 3 Pro toward a flatter, softer profile.
According to Android Authority, the stems on the buds will be simpler, and that eye-catching light bar seems to have been ditched, which gives the buds a more understated style.
Pinch controls stay on board, which keeps the core gestures working much the same as before. The in-ear tips look refined, and the case gets a rethink as well. Instead of dropping in vertically, the buds lie flat in a redesigned shell, a layout that should make quick grabs and pocket carry easier.
If Samsung echoes the Buds 3 playbook, the standard Buds 4 may follow the same design language, though that part is not confirmed.

A new trick called Head Gestures is the key addition on the software side. With a simple nod or shake, you can answer calls, dismiss timers and alerts, hear notifications read aloud or stop them. You can even respond to simple yes or no prompts with an assistant. It sounds broader than similar gestures on rival earbuds, and it aims squarely at moments when your hands are busy or your phone is out of reach. So the use cases range from cooking and commuting to quick replies during workouts.
Plenty of smarts still play a big role here, including adaptive noise control, 360 recording, easy pairing across phones and tablets, and a find-your-phone helper. On the specs side, the leak does not dive into drivers, battery numbers, or codec upgrades, so official details will have to fill in how sound quality and endurance stack up.
Timing lines up with Samsung’s next flagship phones, hence, an appearance alongside the Galaxy S26 family feels likely. The overall direction, though, points to a cleaner design, a more practical case, and hands-free nod and shake controls, all aimed at a premium set that trims the flash without losing the pro edge.
