And what about the headphones themselves? We gave them four stars back in 2023, commending the on-ears for their lightweight design, good call quality, and wireless performance.
While on-ears can pinch (and we found these weren’t always the most comfortable), these Sony on-ears are comfortable enough to wear, and for some people’s ears, the pinching won’t be an issue. While the design isn’t foldable, they’re lightweight enough to not be of bother when walking about.
The battery life is very long at 50 hours. We drained the battery and after nine hours they were still at 100%. Duffice to say that these headphones will probably last longer than all the music you have in your streaming library. The wireless performance was very robust, good for those who might use these headphones during the busy commutes and don’t want disruptions.
The call quality is also good for a pair of on-ears, though it can get more difficult to hear in busy areas. There’s app support, rare for most affordable headphones, where you can alter the sound wih EQ options and make adjustments to the overall performance.
We shouldn’t forget about how they sound either, and the CH520 offer a smooth sense of detail and clarity with decent brightness in describing highs and bass that’s weighty and rich in tone. It’s a very mainstream sound and one we think you’ll enjoy.
We’ve seen these Sony on-ears on plenty of people’s heads and there’s good reason for that. They have good features and offer good sound, and if that appeals to you, then you should jump on this deal pronto.
