Windows handhelds live or die on how easy their software is to use. Microsoft’s new Xbox Full Screen Experience (FSE), which adds console-like navigation, is coming to the MSI Claw family.
Windows confirmed the rollout last week (via The Verge) marking the first time that FSE has been available outside of the Asus ROG Ally X and Xbox Ally.
It’s currently in preview, but you can toggle it on your Claw by heading to Settings, opening Gaming, selecting Full screen experience, then choosing Xbox as the home app. You can also set it to launch at start up or launch it yourself using the Task View and Game Bar. Be warned though: there are some bugs that need to be ironed out.
FSE is the perfect experience for those looking for a console experience that actually understands controllers and prioritises battery life. While the Windows experience has certainly improved from the days of the original MSI Claw, the 8 AI+, and A8 will certainly benefit from the FSE experience over time.
Microsoft says additional OEMs are lining up, so expect to see more PC handhelds get the Full Screen Experience in the coming weeks and months.
