Hi-res and lossless music streaming has finally landed on the big screen.
Qobuz has officially launched its Android TV app, giving music lovers an easy way to stream its full hi-res and lossless catalogue straight from the biggest screen in the house.
The new app is available now on the Google Play Store and works across Google TV and older Android TV devices, making Qobuz’s full arrival in the living-room audio space.
While a beta quietly appeared last year for early testers, this week’s release is the first complete version, bringing Qobuz’s editorial-rich experience to TV with a clean, sofa-friendly interface. Users can browse albums, playlists, favourites, and curated selections, or explore personalised recommendations tuned for TV navigation.
Every track is available in CD-quality or hi-res audio (up to 24-bit/192 kHz), depending on your setup. The app also supports Qobuz Connect, the company’s device-linking feature that launched earlier this year. Similar to Spotify Connect or Tidal Connect, it lets users stream directly to compatible hi-fi systems — no Bluetooth, AirPlay, or extra apps required.
From the TV, listeners can control playback via their smartphone or tablet, ensuring seamless transitions between screens while keeping high-quality audio uninterrupted.

“Our users have been asking us for Android TV for a long time. This app embodies our desire to be accessible wherever people listen to music, from headphones to the living room, while preserving what makes Qobuz unique: audio quality and editorial richness,” Axel Destagnol, Chief Product Officer at Qobuz says, highlighting that this rollout was a direct response to community demand.
There’s no word yet on specific TV model support beyond Google TV/Android TV devices, nor on whether features such as offline download or multi-room syncing are fully enabled in the TV app. Also, pricing and subscription terms remain the same for now, but are worth checking if you’re using the TV app for the first time.
Simply put, if you subscribe to Qobuz and your living room setup supports high-quality sound, this launch is a game-changer. The TV becomes a full-blown access point for your library, not just a display. For everyone else, it’s a welcome step toward making premium audio more usable beyond headphones and hi-fi gear.
